Most people come to a chiropractor because something hurts. What they most often discover is that chiropractic care does something far greater than relieve pain.
At the center of everything we do is the nervous system. It governs every function in your body. How you move, how you sleep, how you digest, how you respond to stress, how you heal. When the spine and surrounding structures are misaligned, they create interference in that system. That interference is what shows up as pain, tension, discomfort, fatigue, and the range of symptoms that can feel unrelated but often share the same root.
By working with the musculoskeletal system, the bones, joints, and musculature that house and protect the nervous system, we remove that interference at its source. The nervous system is freed to do what it was designed to do. And when that happens, the body tends to respond in ways that go well beyond the original complaint.
Each adjustment builds on the last. The effects are cumulative, and they compound over time. Many patients describe the experience as finally feeling like themselves again, more alive, more balanced, more at ease in their own body. Some call it turning the lights back on.
That is what chiropractic care, done well, is capable of. That is what we are here to offer.
The providers behind your care are extensively trained, deeply experienced, and committed to outcomes that last. We are not a revolving door practice. You will see the same faces, build a real relationship, and be known here.
Our Team
Dr. Johanna Hartley, DC
Founder, Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Johanna has been practicing chiropractic for over 14 years, with a journey that began personally—experiencing healing from Asthma through Chiropractic Care. After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2011, she started in a high-volume practice where she gained valuable experience but realized that true healing requires more than quick adjustments.
-
This insight led her to establish Atlas Chiropractic Center in 2018, where she creates space for the kind of connected, root-cause focused care she knew patients deserved.
At Atlas, Dr. Johanna combines her advanced training in Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) with a deep understanding of each patient's unique needs. Her approach integrates corrective techniques with holistic wellness strategies, helping families experience lasting transformation rather than temporary relief. This personalized care model reflects her core belief: when we address the root cause with patience and precision, the body has an incredible capacity to heal.
Outside the office, Dr. Johanna cherishes time with her two sons, Dakota and Silas, and husband Pete, whether they're creating memories at home or enjoying Florida's beautiful waterways on their boat.

Our Credentials
-
The science of structural correction.
Chiropractic BioPhysics, or CBP, is the most researched and published technique in the chiropractic field, with over 340 peer-reviewed studies behind it.
Where conventional chiropractic focuses on relieving symptoms visit by visit, CBP is built around identifying and correcting the underlying structural patterns that produce those symptoms in the first place. Using precise postural analysis and digital X-rays, Dr. Johanna measures how your spine deviates from its healthy, natural alignment and applies a corrective protocol — combining specific adjustments, targeted exercises, and spinal traction — to restore what’s been lost.
The result is care that produces measurable, lasting changes in spinal structure rather than temporary relief. Dr. Johanna is the only female chiropractor in Tampa Bay currently holding an active CBP certification.
-

The Webster Technique is the clinical foundation of prenatal chiropractic, developed specifically to balance the pelvis, sacrum, and surrounding soft tissues during pregnancy — reducing physical stress on the mother's body and creating the most optimal environment for the growing baby.

The Webster Technique supports pregnant mothers and baby’s at every stage within pregnancy and postpartum.

Supporting a child’s developmental stages from newborn through adolescence.
The ICPA Pediatric Certification is an advanced training program focused on the chiropractic care of children from birth through adolescence. This accrededation allows Dr Johanna to assess how children's nervous systems develop, how birth and early life stress patterns express in young spines, and how to support healthy development from the very first adjustment after birth.
Dr Johanna is highly trained and experienced in spinal and cranial assessment for infants and children, nervous system evaluation, neurodevelopmental challenges, breastfeeding support, primitive reflex assessment, and the full spectrum of pediatric adjusting techniques adapted for each stage of growth.
